Just a little update…

Lucy is going to be 3 May 27th and seems be fighting the nap thing. Anyone know when their saucy toddler gave up the nap for good? She usually naps 1x a day in the afternoon. The nap seems be getting later and later and then she gets up at dinner time and is still going strong at 8pm!

Zoey and Stella are now a dynamic duo at 20 months. They are now down to one nap in the afternoon too, which makes the mornings nice to go and do things with everyone. However, they have been slow to say words. Just in the last month, Zoey really started learning to say things. Her vocabulary includes: Mommy, Daddy, bye, baby, hi, balloon, Stella, Lucy, Gammie, Papa. She says more that don’t sound like the word she is trying, but she is trying at every turn. Stella has been a bit slower and we are having her evaluated in the next month for speech and hearing. The last weekend was a big jump though. She now says, Mama (1st time ever on Saturday!), Dada, Hi, Bye. We are hoping its just Stella. We are working hard on sign language with all of them also. They are all doing the signs for please, thank you, down, done. Its been really, really helpful to cut down on frustration, especially at the dinner table.

Some other welcomes:

Braden Joshua born to friends Melissa and Josh on February 10th

Quinn James born to my cousins Tara and Nathan on March 11th (our first cousin!!)

Stay tuned for more posts coming (I hope) on couponing, saving money, new ideas we are using and reusables. So excited about this stuff! In the mean time, check out my bff’s blog, a must read for moms of twins and with lots of money saving ideas… also mentioned on the popular blog, moneysavingmadness.com!

Damn. Our house just got diagnosed with having brown bats who are likely to have babies June-August (hey, me too!). Work is estimated to cost over $1000. GREAT timing. Sucks that I think bats are so cute. Too bad they are incredible vectors. It seems habitat destruction is causing them to roost in houses more and more. I can appreciate that. However, too many babies in this house- bats have to go!
